Beta R&D engineers have carried out intensive development to the entire range. The EVO range has been refined from a technical and functional perspective to produce engines that are easier for riding and offering amazing dependability and reliability.
Big news is the introduction of the all new 2T EVO 300 SS where SS stands for “Super Smooth”. The EVO 300 SS is designed for riders who want a softer power delivery. The bike is aimed at hobby and clubmen riders.
Technical details – Engine.
There are a number of changes common to all 2T EVO models plus changes specific to engine capacities.
- New crankshaft seals – greatly reduce friction between the seal and crankshaft.
- New ignition coil – with increased output to reduce emissions; provide more stable carburetion which improves throttle response.
- New CDI – new dual spark system improves carburetion while significantly improving the balance of fuel delivery which results in more linear power delivery and greater bottom end power.
- New voltage regulator – increases power output to the fan allowing the engine to operate at a lower temperature.
- Optimized spark advance curve – to further enhance the engines power delivery.
- New spark plug – with iridium central electrode to improve performance.
300cc Engine.
New cylinder – sealing area has been revised to increase durability.
250cc Engine.
- New exhaust and transfer ports – provide better engine operation throughout the power range.
- New combustion chamber – modified squish band and angle to make the power delivery smoother. In conjunction with the large flywheel improves the overall balance of the bike.
- New silencer – increased sound absorbing cylindrical mesh section with new type packing to make the engine quieter and more pleasant to ride.
125cc Engine.
- New generator stator – the 12 pin generator allows for greater electric power for the ignition and lighting systems, better throttle response across the RPM ranges, greater fan efficiency at low rpm and improved handling due to better mass centralization of the flywheel.
- New crankshaft – increased displacement as stroke is increased from 54mm to 54.5mm.
- New crankshaft bearings – low friction bearings allow the engine to rev more freely increasing responsiveness.
- New silencer – completely new internals with new packing improves top end performance, increased low and mid-range power while reducing exhaust noise.
Chassis.
Updates across the entire EVO range are
- Updated hydraulic suspension – new settings for front fork and rear shock come straight from the Beta Factory Race Team which results in a smoother more responsive ride.
- New front fork sliders – to reduce friction.
- New rear brake pump – provides a more powerful yet progressive rear brake feel.
- New plastic tank cover.
- New switches – in a new location for ease of use and reduced damage from crashes.
- New colours – frame in red, plastics in white with matching red, white and black graphics.
EVO 300 SS – “Super Smooth”
An all new EVO model. It provides a smoother and softer power delivery compared to the standard 300. This new package was designed to provide an easy, intuitive engine but still efficient when the rider requires it to be. The SS acquires all electronic and mechanical upgrades found in the standard EVO 300 but differs in the following components.
- New silencer – internals and packing totally revised to improve top end performance and power delivery while reducing exhaust noise.
- New combustion chamber – with a lower compression ratio and layout dedicated to less competitive use. Allows for super smooth engine response at any RPM especially in very slow sections creating an engine that is more precise, manageable and always easy to control.
- Flywheel with increased inertia – reduces the power impulses providing smoother more progressive power.
- Primary drive with increase inertia – this further smooths out power delivery across all RPM ranges.
- Slow action throttle – provides a slower turn to eliminate abrupt throttle blips thus reducing the amount of clutch needed in sections.
