Coonabarabran Motorcycle Club's (CMCC) 'Open Day and trial 27 Feb.
Coona Motorcycle Club will be holding an 'Open Day' and its first club trial on Sunday February 27th.
The event will be held at 'Glenleigh' on the Gunnedah Road, 12km East of Coonabarabran, and starts at 10am. All trials bikes are welcome, and entries for the trial will be taken on the day, or the previous evening for those who wish to get here early and camp on the property.
We hope to run a class for trail bikes, up to 250cc, running on the clubman lines for anyone interested. The club is not affiliated to any motorcycling body and has its own public liability insurance, so a competition licence is not necessary.
However, a safe machine and equipment are, and they will be inspected on the day.
The property has a small track for young kids to ride around on, and they are most welcome, as we hope to convince parents that trials is the way to go. There is also a man-made practice area for those trials tragics needing a little extra.
Yearly membership of the club is $25 and the entry fee for each event will be $25, most of which goes towards the insurance premium. If all goes well, we hope to run at least one event per month, and we will try not to clash with already established events in the area, although at present there are none.
Coona is within three hours of Dubbo, Orange, Tamworth and Denman, even Armidale at a push, so we hope to see some riders from these areas.
So far, we have had expressions of interest in attending from Hell team, Kaos Motorcycles and Zuma. It is not that far from Newcastle either lads.
Bring along your bike, the family and a picnic and have an enjoyable day on us.
