Motorcycling Australia Launches New Online Learning Platform for Officials and Coaches

Posted 3rd Feb, 2025 | via Motorcycling Australia

Motorcycling Australia (MA) is making it easier than ever for officials and coaches to access the training they need with the launch of the Motorcycling Australia Learning Centre (MALC)—a fully online, flexible learning management system designed to support the growth of motorcycle sport across the country.

Developed in collaboration with the Australian Sports Learning Centre (ASLC) as part of MA’s partnership with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), this platform removes barriers to entry for new officials and coaches while providing ongoing professional development for those already involved in the sport.

Why MALC? More Accessibility, More Opportunities

Motorcycling Australia understands that many officials and coaches juggle busy schedules, so the MALC has been built with convenience in mind. With no set time limits and 100 percent online access, participants can complete courses at their own pace, from anywhere, on any device.

For newcomers, MALC makes it easier to get started in officiating and coaching by streamlining the education process and providing clear, structured learning pathways.

For existing officials and coaches, it offers a central hub for ongoing training to help them enhance their skills, stay up to date with best practices, and advance within the sport.

Aligning with the Best in Australian Sport

The involvement of the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Sports Learning Centre ensures that motorcycle sport benefits from the same high-quality education frameworks used by major national sports such as swimming, athletics, netball, and snow sports. This collaboration reflects MA’s commitment to building a stronger, more professional sport by increasing the volume and capability of trained officials and coaches. More qualified officials and skilled coaches mean safer, better-organised events and a stronger future for motorcycle sport in Australia.

Launch Details

The Motorcycling Australia Learning Centre is live today, launching with the following courses:

  • Level 1 Operational Official Course – Ideal for those starting their officiating journey
  • Club Coach Course – Supporting the development of grassroots coaching
  • Recreational Supervisor Accreditation – Enabling oversight of non-competitive events

By the end of April, the following courses will also go live:
  • Common Modules
  • Clerk of Course

Additional official training courses will be released throughout 2025 to continue building the sport’s knowledge base and empower more people to get involved.

With MALC, education is now more accessible, flexible, and convenient than ever before, helping grow motorcycling from grassroots to elite levels.

You can access the MALC via RiderNet or directly at https://learning.ma.org.au and take the next step in your motorcycling journey.
