Trevor Bennett, trials commissioner, is heading to Queensland next week for the MAQ Trials Forum. Motorcycling Queensland will facilitate a Moto-Trials Forum at the Australian Motorcycle Museum – 3 Butlers Road, Haigslea, on Saturday 12th September 2009.
This Forum will provide competitors, parents, officials, promoters, Clubs, Subcommittee members and any other individual interested in the discipline of Moto-Trials in Queensland, with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of Moto-Trials events in this state.
Motorcycling Queensland is encouraging any person who has ideas and uggestions on how to contribute to the improvement of Moto-Trials to attend the Forum. It’s an opportunity to have your say about your sport.
The Motorcycling Queensland Development Officer – Kim Rowcliffe will work closely with the Moto-Trials subcommittee on the planning and implementation of this Forum.
A professional facilitator (Mr. Peter Phair) has been engaged to manage the Forum, and invitations will be extended to a variety of individuals that the subcommittee and Motorcycling Queensland believe would be useful to have in attendance, in order to achieve a ‘whole of state’ and ‘whole of discipline’ approach.
Pre-registration for this Forum is essential in order to assist us with catering requirements.
Please contact Kim Rowcliffe at MQ.
Says Trevor:
"I’ve made a few phone calls to people on the Queensland Trials Committee, and to key members of the SQTA. I’ve also spoken to MQ and MA. This will be a great opportunity to get the Trials message to MA, and to all the State SCBs."
"The Australian Trials community just need to concentrate on what we have in common, and not on what our perceived differences are. The one thing we all share is a love of Trials, and we just don’t have enough people astride Trials bikes in this country."
"If any of the State Trials Committees have any points they’d like raised, on just about anything Trials, they can contact me (sooner, rather than later). I’ll pass it on to Kim."
