Following concern that the current Veterans class doesn’t provide a category for riders seventy years and over, and being mindful that the C-grade line may be asking too much of such riders, a Seniors class will be introduced at the Glenmaggie Easter trial scheduled for 19 – 20 April this year. It is designed to give riders in this age group an opportunity to compete by introducing a class with a reasonable balance between safety and the competitive instinct.
Also it has been noted that some regular competitors coping with injury, health or age-related issues have recently retired from competition or are considering doing so. To give such riders a good excuse to keep participating they are included in this class – conditions apply!
Eligibility for the Seniors Class:
- Competitors seventy years and over
- Competitors fifty-five years and over who, due to injury, health or age-related issues, would otherwise retire from competition*
may compete in the Seniors Class by riding the Classic line (or Post Classic if no Classic line is included in the competition) on a post 1986 trials machine.
Identification plates for Seniors will conform with the basic requirements of the GCR’s and be black with a yellow border twenty millimeters wide with white lettering.
*Eligibility may be reviewed by the RCB in consultation with relevant parties.
