Western Australia’s proud history of hosting the Australian Trial Championship will continue this weekend (October 10-11) with the historic township of York to host the 2026 edition.
The Integrated Products-backed championship will bring together the nation’s finest senior and junior talent on a property which hasn’t been used for trial competition before, creating a level playing field for all competitors.
Over 100 riders have entered across the 12 championship and support classes, with intense battles expected across the board – headlined by the top-tier Trial1 class which has attracted a small but formidable line-up.

Ten-time Trial1 champion Kyle Middleton returns after tasting victory in 2025, where he will be joined by Neil Price, Connor Hogan, Chris Bayles, Ben Walling and Jake Folini-Kearns.
Middleton, while very much a part-time competitor these days, still possesses all the essential tools of the trials trade, which he used to full effect in 2025 by outlasting Hogan in a Queensland thriller.
Hogan, the 2024 Australian champion, again returns home after busy British and world title campaigns, and he also joined forces with Walling in the 2026 FIM Trial des Nations in Spain where the duo finished in a solid ninth place.
Price is another Australian championship stalwart, and he’s still chasing the ultimate prize after finishing on the Trial1 podium seven times since 2026. Price finished third in 2025.
Bayles, 37, is also another rider who keeps on keeping on, and he too has multiple silver and bronze medals in the nation’s trial showpiece. He will be another to watch over the two days of competition, while Walling’s confidence will be sky high after collecting his second successive WA title last weekend.

The other championship classes in York are T2-T4, Classic, Junior Open, Twin Shock, Veteran 40+, Veteran 55+ and Trial Sidecar, with Andrew McDonald-Smith (Veteran 55+) joining Middleton in attempting to go back-to-back – with David Thomas shaping as his biggest threat.
The T2 class is an intriguing one, as hard-nosed veterans such as 2025 T3 winner Adrian Harry match wits against burgeoning talent such as Mitchell Teale, who was another 2026 TdN representative for Motorcycling Australia.
Hector Pinto, the 2025 Junior 7-U13 champion, is also moving up to Junior Open in 2026 so he will be another rider to keep an eye on.
Meanwhile, the likes of 18-year-old Alisha Harry, who competed in the famed Scottish Six Days Trial earlier this year alongside her father Adrian, and multiple women’s champion Michelle Coleman will also be in WA but a lack of entries means their respective classes (Youth and Women) won’t have official Australian championship status.

York is located 100km east of Perth. Click here for a visitor’s guide to the historic town.
The championship venue is ‘Nookadin’ in Talbot Road, Balladong. Spectators are welcome, and entry is free. Competition starts around 9am on Saturday and Sunday.
The 2026 Integrated Products Australian Trial Championship is being co-promoted by the AJS Moto Trials Club, WA and Pathfinders Trials Motorcycle Club Western Australia under the Western Australian Moto Trials Sport Panel umbrella.
