Bikes and equipment have started arriving, in Perth from all over the country this week in preparation for the X Trial Australian Championship, to be at Baseball Park Canning Vale. Riders are coming from New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania to go up against the local West Australian’s for the Championship. This type of Event is popular in Europe, with the FIM World X Trial Championship being regularly covered on Foxtel here in Australia, but rarely is it seen in the flesh. Australian Moto Trials Champion Kyle Middleton is certainly the favourite running into the event with Victoria’s Tim Coleman and Tasmania’s Chris Bayles both capable of taking the title.
Baseball Park in Canning Vale will be transformed into an industrial play ground with Sea Containers, Cable Drums, Huge Earth Moving Tyres, Skip Bins and tons of Timber and Concrete to build a course that will push the riders to their limits and which will have the audience on the edge of their seats. “The sections are really looking great so far”, said Neil Price the Western Australian State Champion, and course designer for this event. “There are some really big crazy lines we are setting up and to be honest we aren’t really sure how they will ride. It will either be some really amazing riding or some spectacular crashing! So either way it will be a great show.” Tasmanian rider Chris Bayles, has been preparing for the event in NSW, “ Having been in Sydney for a few weeks at Pacific Park has been great preparation. I am really pumped just to be riding the X Trial Championship and being part of the first ever event." Local Wanneroo rider Callum Barton will be stepping up to expert level competition for the first time. “I am really chuffed to be offered a wildcard ride in the event. I am really excited but nervous too because the sections are at a pretty high standard. I have put in the time over summer and hopefully it pays off. “
There will also be plenty of entertainment through out each night with Freestyle Trials demos from Alex and Lewis Nolan and the Oset electric bike demos. Kids aged 5 - 15 can come and try the electric bikes and trials push bikes from CZAR and Echo. You can test your balance on Trials Bikes and help raise money for cancer research at the Balance stand. Plus see all of the latest Trials and Enduro machines from Jota Gas, Sherco, Gas Gas, and Beta. There is a Licenced Bar serving full and mid strength, beer wine and premixes plus plenty of food.
The X Trial Australian Championship runs over two nights April 10th and 11th. The Venue is Baseball Park, on the Corner of Nicholson and Wilfred Roads Canning Vale.
