The evolution continues – lower prices, a new 300cc engine, developed for both expert and recreational riders, built with Italian flair and style – black anodized alloy frame with bright red plastics.
Donato Miglio, factory Beta Trial Team development engineer, comments on the new EVO 300. “The new 300cc engine is probably the biggest evolution made since the birth of the EVO. This is an entirely new engine, very similar to that used by factory riders during the last year, very progressive and at the same time powerful with large reserves of torque. We believe we have made available for every rider the performance of a highly competitive bike, very easy to approach by hobby riders and highly competitive when used in the race.”
The new 300cc engine features an increase in bore to 79mm. A new piston and combustion chamber profile combined with a new CDI advance mapping, optimize engine behaviour and performance. These changes give a significant increase in torque combined with greater power at high engine revs. The provides for improved ease of driving, more immediate and progressive reaction to throttle opening giving easier management of the bike especially for recreational users.
Compared to the 2011 EVO 290, the new 300 feels more docile and controllable at low revs. It is more tractable down low, yet mid-range and top end are stronger. The engine revs quicker and is more progressive. The new clutch is smoother in operation with lots of feel. There is no grab when the clutch lever is held in.

- - New clutch friction plates designed to increase feel and more progressive engagement.
- - Thermo switch now located at the bottom of the radiator for more accurate engine temperature control
- - New suspension settings.
- - Keihin flat sided carby now fitted to the 200cc engine as well as the 125/250/300.
