Yes of course it is still on but PLEASE be WARNED! There have been some big rain events south of Sydney.
This does, and will effect even Pacific Park as it is on the banks of the The Hawkesbury River.
The Shoalhaven has flooded and waters are being diverted into the Nepean and Warragamba Dam. We have been notified Warragamba should spill about 6 metres of water about Midnight Wednesday and this will create minor flooding in the Hawkesbury region on Thursday and into Thursday night.
This may mean access from the western Windsor end could be blocked at the lowlands at Cattai. Please check before you drive. There is a number of other ways to access Pacific Park so you will get here, just be smart and check before driving. (via Glenorie and The Northern Road is probably the safest).
Also if it floods there is a good chance Sackville and Lower Portland Ferries will be shut, so if you are staying on the Northern side of the river (like at Del Rio Resort) you may have to take the long way around.
Please check road closures on LiveTraffic, or check the Bureau of Meteorology site, Weatherzone site, or the SES for more information.
The phones at Pacific Park are currently down because of the weather so we cant be reached at the venue (there is also no network coverage in the valley). We will attempt to post updates, but it does mean we need to drive some distance from the Park to make these posts......SO PLEASE CHECK BEFORE YOU DRIVE, and have a PLAN B.
Please be assured the event is going ahead, we just want everyone to be prepared with a driving plan and make it on time. There has been rain at the Park, but so far it is not too bad. This effect is from the problems south of Sydney.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the weekend.
Paul Arnott, for The Combined Trials Clubs of NSW.
