Well our first event for the year is all done and dusted. Over 20 riders and bikes turned up for our practise day last Sunday, a great roll up for an early season event on what can best be descibed as a "warm" sunny day
Section set up Saturday afternoon was followed by an enjoyable camp out in the balmy summer like conditions. Despite the warm weather and a few threatening storm clouds the obligatory campfire was the focus of much bull**** and bad jokes.
A very misty Sunday morning greeted a few bleary eyed campers and soon the rest of the riders started arriving to be greeted with four natural sections and one interesting group of man made obstacles.
Scoring and riding schedule was very casual for this our initial practise day so riders were able to focus on sections or areas that were of particular interest to them with a good dose of coaching and advice being offered for those tricky bits. Many thanks to those riders who gave their time and expertise to assist some of the more inexperienced participants and those that just wanted to improve their skills
Along with the wide range of riding skills were an interesting selection of bikes with a few nice pre 65ish machines turning up for the day. The generous offer to try some of these old machines was well received with a surprising amount of fun being had on some unlikely looking machinery.
Check out below a small sample of the day with many more photos posted in the gallery.
All is now set for the first scoring round of our 2013 twinshock series with the first event being held at Chapmans Yarrawa on 14th April. This is just three weeks away so get those bikes serviced, get your riding gear ready and get there. We are looking forward to seeing as many as possible for a great fun day with just that hint of serious competition for those so inclined.
