Following on from last episode, we continue our conversation with Jake Miller. Jake is like no other in the trials family. He has done it all: He's ridden, he's minded, been a mechanic, he run events, he's promoted the sport, he's even been the promoter of TrialGP series.
If you haven't listened to episode 76 which was part 1 of our chat I would encourage you to do so as it will provide a bit of background to make this conversation more meaningful.
In this episode we really focus in on Jake's time running and promoting the TrialGP and what his observations were.
We talk about how it came about in conjunction with the FIM, and the changes Jake and the team made to make the experience consistent across events, focused for a modern audience with introduction of qualifying designed to appeal to live social media broadcasts, and real time scoring updates.
Jake is clearly not the one to shy away from a challenge however when you take on large, ambitious projects there can be some bumps along the way.
The introduction of Qualifying caused the riders to protest however to their credit they did eventually come around. We also hear stories of farmers holding events organisers to ransom, and other shenanigans.
I hope you enjoy part two of my chat with Jake Miller.
