Re: Open letter from Trials Subcommittee inviting non-affiliated riders to ride at Queensland Titles
Dear Riders
The trials subcommittee has been working closely with MQ to make the sport of trials more accessible and financially viable for all. As you are aware the Queensland Trials Titles have been rescheduled for the 14th/15th August 2021 at Queensland Moto Park, Coulston. You may not be aware that with the negotiations with MQ we have been able to set up permanent trials practice areas at the park which will be available for a special rate (TBA) for trials riders, regardless of the rider’s state controlling body. In addition, the National Trials Titles will be held there on the first weekend of October 2021. There is also scope to hold other trials-related competitions.
Another subcommittee initiative has been the reduction of the cost of 12-month membership and licence under MQ from $275 to $200
Our final and most exciting initiative has been the reduction of the cost of a one-event licence for non-MA-affiliated members, from $75 to $50 which allows for 2 days of competition at the Queensland Trials titles. We are lobbying for this same cost to apply for the National Trials Titles and will keep you posted regarding this. Thus, the cost for a non-MA-affiliated rider for the Queensland Trials titles will be the entry fee of $80 plus the one-event, two-day licence fee of $50. The only park fees in addition to this are camping fees. If riders plan to camp they are required to contact Vicky at QMP, 07 54635015.
If riders wish to enter the Queensland Trials titles, we have also arranged with Western District Trials Club (WDTC) to accept that riders can enter via Ridernet or a paper entry/eftpos transfer. Riders wishing to do a paper entry need to contact Mark Keenan, WDTC at markkeenan@bigpond.com in plenty of time before the event.
In closing, the trials subcommittee is of the opinion that they have no issue with riders who wish to compete under more than one state controlling body. This can only benefit trials in the long term.
