Revolution Trials Had a fantastic response to our trials school held at Lowmead Central Queensland last weekend with 20 riders turning out in support of local rider and Australian Trial des Nations rep Sarah Chivers with all profits from the school being donated to the Australian TDN Team.
With the news that Motorcycling Australia Had cut back their financial support of our Australian Team, A discussion took place among the Revolution team and a decision was made that we would help out however we could.
The idea of running a training school popped up and Central Queensland was decided would be the place, with a lot of very keen trials enthusiasts in this area and Sarah a local rider it would best help the cause.
The Central Queensland Trials Club got behind us also and with the help of Brent and Kim Chivers provided a Venue, BBQ Lunch and Ice cold refreshments.
The day started out 9.30am with riders divided up into groups based on varying experience and we all went about discussing pro’s and con’s regarding different bike set up and then made a few changes and slight adjustments before we set off.
Our intentions were to have two sessions before lunch and one session after with our groups on rotation, I think all groups may have been enjoying them selves a little too much as our first session went to lunch time. After a lunch break and a small demo from Brendan and Brad we headed back out with our new groups, it was becoming clearer that some of our riders may have gone out too hard in the early sessions with some circomming to exhaustion and heading off early (about 3pm) the last session took place as a all in ride for the remainder of the groups with Brad Brendan Tony and myself all showing how to and sometimes how to not! A couple of noteworthy gains made on the day by Darcy Lahey , Emma Hamilton, Gavin Prescott, Tristan Robinson ,Peter Funke and a special mention to Eric Batty for his boy like enthusiasm and constantly pushing himself very good to see . Plenty new things learnt and most importantly plenty of smiles all round.
I’d like to thank Kim, Brent and Sarah and the C.Q Club for their help in setting things up and providing lunch. Tony Bax, Bradley Bryant and Brendan Hornsby for Giving up their time ,their vast knowledge and really putting in to make this school enjoyable for all and especially all those who took part in the training and coming out to support Sarah Chivers and her Fellow TDN Team mates. Thank you all. Justin Gough
