The exciting news just keeps coming after FIM Oceania have now confirmed that the FIM Oceania Trial Championships will also be up for grabs as part of the 2023 Australian Trial Championships!
To be held at Eden Valley over the weekend of September 30 and October 1 2023, the Keyneton MCC, and the Trials South Australia community, are looking forward to welcoming and hosting riders, and their families and supporters, from all states of Australia, and from New Zealand and around the world.
Keyneton Motorcycle Club President, Mr Sean Heidenreich commented, “It’s not only exciting and pleasing that we, as a sporting club, have been able to have a 20+ year relationship with the Vine Inn Barossa, but now to be, once again, welcoming all of our fellow Trial competitors from across the Tasman, and into ‘Billy Jacks at the Vine’ is just an awesome added bonus!”
FIM Oceania President Peter Doyle said, ‘’FIM Oceania is very pleased to award the 2023 FIM Oceania Trial Championship to the Keyneton MCC. The location of the event is outstanding, and we know that the club will once again create a special event not to be missed. We look forward to seeing the best Trial competitors from the Oceania region battling it out for the FIM Oceania Trophy and adding their name as a FIM Oceania Champion.’’
And the word from ‘across the ditch’ is that the Kiwi riders are more than looking forward to coming back to South Australia to try and replicate the win they had there in 2017 and to try to regain the FIM Oceania Championship they lost at home in 2018. The last time the Championship was held was in 2018, so it will have been a long 5-year gap between Trans-Tasman battles.
Team line-ups for Team Australia and Team NZ will be announced in 2023, with teams to be made up of senior and junior riders, and male and female riders, who will not only showcase how exciting Trial is to watch, but also that it is a sport for all ages and genders.
