The Sherco Queensland Moto Trials Titles took place under ideal conditions to produce a close call for top honours.
The title went to Boyd Willcocks on his Gas Gas, who pulled clear of Sherco’s Luigi Garzoni by five points on the second day of competition on Sunday 25 June.
According to Moto Central’s Don Murray the competition in open solo was excellent with seven riders participating to mark a high point not seen in recent years.
“We were delighted to see Sherco take second and third spot in the top division with Luigi Garzoni and Kale Reed both notching up good rides,” Don said.
“To see James Turner take first in youth, Tom and James Wager come in at second and third in open junior points to the capability of the Sherco machines in the hands of the young guns.
“The popular clubman class saw Andrew Trezise mark his return to trials with a strong win on his new Sherco followed by Mark Casey on the Ossa 280.
“Overall well done to the Western Districts Trials Club for holding the event at the excellent Rockatoo property – it was touch and go as the area is still reeling from the floods earlier in the year and the club had to postpone the event due to the threat of bad weather.
“A lot of work was put in by the club president and race secretary, Rob and Kathy Wager who doubled as property owners, fence menders, tractor operators et cetera.
“Sherco was delighted to support the trials community in Queensland in hosting the event and congratulations to all involved,” Don concluded.
