The 2022 NSW State Trials Championships were held at Pacific Park on Saturday, September 3.
I assume the trial was run on Saturday since Sunday was Fathers Day. As we all know, trials is an ideal motorsport for families and there was a number of father and son(s) entries riding around standing on the pegs.
Organisers set 10 sections in a loop through the usual PP rockery. What the organisers couldn’t set was the weather. The constant drizzling rain meant competitors had to deal with some mud and lots of rocks that were a bit slipperier than usual.
Unfortunately, I only got to sections 1, 9 and 10 and then I had to leave early. It was good to see the regular faces and a few new ones. Chatting to riders, I got the feeling that everyone was having a good time so I’m hoping the trial was a success.
Many thanks to the observers who gave up their Saturday to stand in the rain. I know 3 of them who drove 160km for the privilege. We must note that this trial could not have gone ahead without them.
